Christmas 2008

Christmas this year brought us lots and lots of snow. Rogers was able to get his money's worth of the snow blower that he got for his birthday. I actually think he is having fun out there in all that snow.
Rogers and his new Toy
I swept the snow off the porch but as you can see you can't even see the walk to get to the front steps.

This year for Christmas eve Rogers and I went us and spent the night with my mom & dad my dad cooked us the most amazing halibut that he caught in Alaska. It was awesome. Then we watched the all time favorite Christmas Vacation. You gotta love that movie.
First thing Christmas morning we let Buddee open is Christmas sweater. I am so goofy I wanted him to be able to wear it to my moms. He looked so cute.
This is Budddee trying to open his gift.
With a little help he got it open.
Doesn't he look so cute? I think he is smiling for the camera
We didn't have Rogers kids until later in the afternoon so I was able to spend some more time at my mom & dads. This however was the first year in all my 37 years that I didn't get to spend the entire day there. It was different for me.
This is me sneaking Brooklyn her first Diet Coke. She loved it I think she is going to be a girl after my own heart.
Rogers opening presents at my moms.
This is my Dad, Andrea, Kristina, Josh & Huntyr. We are watching my dad try and figure out how the calendar that I made him works.
This is my mom and Brooklyn and BrylieAnn looking at a photo album that Andrea made for my mom.

BrylieAnn, Brooklyn & Huntyr. Waiting to open some more presents.
Look how cute Huntyr is holding Brooklyn

Once Rogers kids got there the presents were ripped into like lightning. I was amazed at how fast they were opened and it was over.

I think Christmas anymore has kind of lost its luster for me. I feel like all the work I do is over and unappreciated before the last gift is open.

Rogers spoiled me I don't know why we set a $$$$ limit because he went over and beyond that amount.

I have always wanted the picture of George Washington keeling by his horse and praying at Valley Forge. I looks amazing on my wall, and then of course he got me a smaller camera that I can carry in my purse, (which of course I got a new Dooney& Burke purse). I will never miss another picture moment again. (I hope). Earrings, Clothes, books wrapped things up for me. All in all it was an awesome day.

Deven has been asking for and Xbox 360 for a long time and this year I told Rogers that he deserved to have a Christmas that he will remember. Spencer and Holly are older and seem to be living there lives as they would like so we don't see them as much. Deven brings a youthful spirit into our home and I wanted him to be happy.

Deven starts the fun.

Christmas Tradition

Through out the year my sister and I get together to do many things. Shopping where ever and when ever we can. Attending the Scrapbook Expo twice a year, and the list could go on and on and on. However, nothing compares to month of December when we get together for our all out candy making day.
This year as we are so busy we ended up doing it much later in the month than we usually do. But at least we were able to squeeze it in.
Today we made 4 batches of Divinity, 2 batches of Toffee, 2 batches of Cherry-o-lets, 2 batches of caramels, and the final was 1 batch of Fudge (Grandma Olsen Fudge).
It was a fun day for us and I am sure that Rogers and Josh enjoyed watching football. Especially since the Titian's and the 49ers pulled off a win. woot! woot!
A little bit of this and a whole lot of that.

Kristina and I getting started for the day of fun Candy making

I wonder if Rogers knows that I can see him checking out some of the finished product. Kristina puts the finishing touches on the last batch of Toffee.

Now he is really caught red handed.

RIchardson News Letter 2008

All about the Richardson’s

Rogers continues to work for Impac Services, out of Vancouver WA. He is lucky enough to be able to work out of the office in our home. Doing just what he likes, working with computers. Some days working at home alone are easier for him than others but he is doing really well at his job. I appreciate how hard he works for us each day. This summer he joined the Men’s association at Birch Creek Golf Course, which allowed him to golf at least once a week. He really enjoyed that. He also loves to play basketball every chance he gets. We have a little Shih Tzu puppy named Buddee. He makes a great pal for Rogers while he is home working all day. He is 1 and still loves to play and chase all of his toys. We find ourselves laughing at him all the time.

Spencer graduated from Mountain Crest High School in May. He moved into a little apartment, in Logan with a buddy of his from school. He is realizing how much fun it is to be an adult. J

Holly is a junior at Logan High School. She turned 16 in March. During the summer she worked in Bear Lake, where she was able to save enough money to purchase a little car. She joined the Logan High swim team this year and has really enjoyed it. She is a fast little swimmer. She is still in the orchestra playing the clarinet. As you can expect we don’t see much of her as she is so busy.

Deven is in the 8th grade at Mount Logan Middle School. His final year before he will go to high school. Boy time really does fly. Deven has been really active in the scouting program with the young men in our ward. He spent a week at scout camp this summer and has been on quite a few little over night camps. I am so happy that he has made friends with the kids in our neighborhood.

As for me I still work at Thermo Fisher (HyClone). I continue to work on my scrapbooks, and have converted one of the rooms in our home into a craft room. I’m still in the process of getting it all together, but it will be so nice. You can stay up to date with us all year at
www.kandikorner.blogspot.com I am truly blessed to be where I am in life.

I hope this holiday season brings much peace, love and happiness in your life.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Christmas is in the Air

Awhile back Rogers and I was shopping in his favorite store Wal-Mart, and we came across these Gingerbread House making kits. We thought it would be fun activity to do with Deven.

And as you can see it was. We bought two so that Rogers and Deven would each have one to make. It was fun watching them and seeing the creativity that each of them have.

I was afraid that Deven was either going to be sick because he was eating all his frosting or that the was not going to have enough to decorate his house with. He seemed to like the taste.

Here is Rogers working on putting the walls up.
The walls are up the Deven begins the decorating. My favorite part.

Rogers and his finished product.

Deven and his masterpiece.

Time is Getting away from Me

I can't believe that it is already December. Can anyone really tell me where the time goes? It has been awhile since my last post so I will try and catch up.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so bless to be where I am in my life. I am so thankful to have all of my family around, so that we can get together for the holidays.

On Thanksgiving I think I must have been so overwhelmed with everything that was going on, seeing Tyson home for the holiday and all the good food, I forgot and I only took one funny picture.

Kristina loves the marshmallows on the sweet potatoes and she told my mom that there were not enough on them. Of course my mom told her to put more on them if she wanted and 'Boy did she'. I had to take a picture of them in the oven the marshmallows were swelling up so big they were lifting off the glass lid. I have to admit they were very very tasty.

The Saturday following Thanksgiving was Rogers 41 Birthday. He thinks he is old but I have to keep telling him that we are not old. Well maybe we are but you are only as old as you feel right? and I still think that I am young.

Deven and Holly came over and spent the day with us for Rogers birthday and it made a perfect time to set on of our Christmas trees up. When I say one tree that is correct. I have to have two. One in the family room where we are all the time and one in the front window of our house. They are both really pretty when they are lit up at night.

Getting these three to smile for a picture is like pulling teeth. I always have to tell Deven after I take the first picture. "Ok this one is mine so smile nice". That usually works.
Here is the tree in our family room down stairs. I think Rogers and the kids did a great job decorating this tree. We call this tree our star tree. We made lots and lots of star ornaments last year for it. It was really fun to get them out this year and see them again.
Stay tuned for the other tree and the lights that Rogers so willing hung on the house. I can't tell you enough what a lucky girl I am.
